Annapurna, the loneliest summit in the world. probably because for every two climbers that try to reach her summit one becomes a permanent resident
“Mountains are not stadiums where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, they are the cathedrals where I practice my religion…I go to them as humans go to worship. From their lofty summits I view my past, dream of the future and, with an unusual acuity, am allowed to experience the present moment…my vision cleared, my strength renewed. In the mountains I celebrate creation. On each journey I am reborn.” - Anatoli Boukreev died December 25 1997 on this mountain.

Shasta update

for those of you that requested updates on the Shasta climb this weekend here it is… I FUCKING FAILED. this weekend was my first failed summit attempt and that for me is a VERY hard pill to swallow. for one reason or another i was struck down by severe AMS at 10,300 feet. i was unresponsive and was physically forced to start climbing down the mountain. im fine physically but mentally devastated. sorry to let you all down.

game time

in five hours i will be on my way to attempt to summit mt shasta again. its been five years. we’ll see how my dusty equipment works.
